TypingMind Free API: Add FreeTheAI as a Custom Model
TypingMind adds each FreeTheAI model as a custom model with the full chat completions endpoint and your key in an Authorization header.
Before you start
- Create a free account and an API key. Create an account
- Check in once a day to unlock the free models. Daily check-in
- Pick a model ID from the models page. Browse models

Steps
Add a custom model
Open Models in the sidebar and choose Add Custom Model, then Create Manually.
Fill in the model
Enter a name, choose OpenAI Chat Completions API, and enter the endpoint URL and model ID. Set the context length (for example 128000).
Add your key
Choose API Key via HTTP header. Use Authorization as the key and Bearer followed by a space and your key as the value.
Test and save
Press Test, then Add Model. Repeat for each model you want.

Troubleshooting
TypingMind says authentication failed. Why?
The header value must be "Bearer " (with a space) followed by your full key.
Common errors
- 401: the key is wrong or incomplete. Paste the whole key.
- 403: check in for today, or confirm your email.
- 404: the model ID or URL is wrong.
- 429: daily limit reached, or too many requests at once.
